Rainy Weekend

It rained nearly the entire weekend, melting a considerable share of the snow. Now there's a fairly impressive flood in the courtyard. I chose not to go birding in this sloppy weather. Instead, I stayed inside and listened to music and read. I had tea, coffee, and beer. I watched a couple of movies and made a few phone calls to friends and family. I did laundry. I washed my dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher. I did go to the symphony Friday night to hear Henning Kraggerud play Mozart, my third time seeing him perform. Saturday morning I joined friends for breakfast at Prairie Café before work. Alas, my birding gear remained poised at their ready for possibilities, but went unused. How sad! Perhaps prospects will be better next weekend.

  1. Cool effect on the photos. Your gear looks antigue and dusty, the windowsill looked like marble. What did you use?

  2. Hey Jo,

    Thanks!

I used an old photograph texture and applied it as a blended layer.

Looking at purchasing a pair of Binoculars, which of the Vortex models are those and how do you like them?
