Black-throated Blue Warbler (female)
Wow! What an incredible day at Pheasant Branch Conservancy! On account of the cold temperatures, warblers and other songbirds were down low and made relatively easy photographic subjects. When it warmed up this afternoon, things just exploded. This day will go down as one of the best birding experiences of my life. It's been a long time since I've observed something like this—it recalls the cold-snap of May 12th, 2002 when warblers were knocked to the ground for a couple of days. At that time the skies were overcast, but today there was excellent light for digiscoping!
