
Did you participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count over the weekend? What was your best bird? I tallied 15 species with a Rough-legged Hawk flyover. Typical winter birds, including a Northern Cardinal that began singing at 2:45AM – crazy bird!

We did..all 4 days. Our high count for "home" was 36 species in 2 hrs. Just don't realize the number of different birds until you really pay attention. It was was a fun weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI only had 11 species but was able to nab Pine Siskins, Common Redpolls and a Bald Eagle flying over the yard. :)
ReplyDeleteMy rarest were Rough-legged Hawk and N. Flicker near Kewaunee.....notable absences' that had been present last 3 years were Pine Siskins.
