"I've always loved the electric guitar: to hold it and work it and hear what it does is unreal."
― David Lynch
I got an email from Fender today saying they're discontinuing the solid rosewood necks at the Mod Shop on the 24th, so I have some decisions to make. This color is Bordeaux Metallic and I nearly went with it when creating the build for the Black Strat last year. If I order this one up I'm going to go with the HSS pickup combo, Noiseless Generation 4 ― I quite like the tone out of the Ultra HSS I acquired a few weeks back.
I would also go with Deluxe Locking Tuners and 2-point Deluxe Synchronized Tremelo Bridge, so it would be quite a bit like an Ultra HSS but with the original contour body. Now that I have ridiculous variety of Stratocasters, I'm thinking about selling a couple of my least favorite ones. There are 4 guitars in my collection that are essentially collector status which I wouldn't sell until they've appreciated more. Though unrealized, my collection could already be sold for quite a bit more than what I paid for it, as some of the models have gone up $200.00 to $300.00 since I purchased them.
Right now I wouldn't sell:
The Black Strat
Arctic Peal American Ultra HSS
American Original 50s
Eric Johnson Signature
NOS 63 Red Sparkle
75th Commemorative
But I might potentially sell:
Both Professional IIs
American Performer
Mocha Burst American Ultra
Ponder, ponder, ponder ...
Or not!
