Noel Cutright and the Baxter's KEWA

And it was that Kentucky Warbler which appeared on Noel Cutright's lifetime achievement award for bird conservation from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources back in 2013. Noel lost his battle with cancer not long after, but you can read about his legacy with respect to his storied birding career. The Kentucky Warbler was Noel's favorite bird. You may have heard Noel and his pal Bill Volkert on Larry Meiller's WPR radio program on birds and bird conservation. The two would field questions from the general public for over an hour. This should serve as a reminder that it's better to spend an equal or greater amount of time educating the public about imperiled birds that it is simply to chase and list.

What are you doing for bird conservation?
